Rising to the heat pump challenge

Red-hot Foam Techniques engineers have warmed to the task of improving household heat pumps. The team have been busy developing key accoustic and thermal insulation components for the electric pumps which are playing a vital role in Britain’s move to low-carbon heating.

Customer confidence in Foam Techniques

The customer-approved parts are now being used on all heat pumps that are being manufactured in Britain by a household name.

Commenting on the project, Managing Director Danny Draper, said: “We should all be extremely proud of the way Foam Techniques has risen to a technological challenge from a customer which is pushing forward boundaries in energy innovation.

“Our positivity and expertise came to the fore to finesse the performance levels of our client’s heat pumps and I am delighted that we delivered exceptional results which met their needs.”

Improving air source heat pumps

Electric air-source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air to provide heating and hot water. They are regarded as vital to Britain’s low-carbon transition but a recent survey found two thirds of heat pump users say they have been more expensive to run than their previous gas boilers.

Foam Techniques responded to the customer’s technological request as part of wider efforts to make heat pump installation cheaper and more efficient.

Looking to the future

With further projects aligning with UK Government programmes, Foam Techniques’ position in the marketplace is on course to strengthen. Looking ahead, Mr Draper added: “Our success not only reflects our technical excellence and can-do attitude but it also underlines our ability to collaborate with our business partners when they need us most.”
