Avon Group automotive NVH supplier, Avon TSA, has secured unique approval from 3M as their only UK-based ‘preferred converter’ of Thinsulate™ material.
UK’s only 3M Thinsulate™ Preferred Converter
The approval will ensure Avon TSA’s customers benefit from an unrivalled choice of material grades, supply continuity and wide-ranging conversion options, including die-cutting, heat-sealing, kiss-cutting and laminating.
“We’re already seeing massive growth in the adoption of Thinsulate™ from automotive customers as they see the benefits of this unique material, and we’re delighted to be the partner of choice for converting the material and manufacturing bespoke products.” said Roger Warr, MD of Avon TSA Ltd.
3M Thinsulate™ automotive solutions
3M Thinsulate™ is ideal for automotive NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) solutions because it combines very low weight with strong acoustic performance and a high level of adaptability. It has an excellent acoustic absorption to weight ratio, reducing cabin noise and improving ride without adding the mass that affects fuel consumption.
The fabric is thin and has excellent compressibility and recovery, ideal for irregular cavities like door pillars, dashboards, headliners, door trims and instrument panels.
Being a global manufacturer, 3M delivers consistent supply – vital for fast customer line deliveries.
A history in textiles
Avon TSA (the TSA stands for Textile Shapes & Assembly) has been working with specialist fabrics and foams to solve acoustic and vibration problems since the company’s inception in 1977.
