P&D strengthens in-house tool team

Production of a tool for plastic injection moulding at P&D Manufacturing

P&D Manufacturing in Calne has appointed Kester Freeman as the latest addition to our in-house toolmaking team. Kester brings 20 years’ experience in toolmaking, further strengthening a team that supports over 22 injection moulding machines running up to 500 tonnes.

Full toolmaking capability under one roof

The P&D toolroom handles milling, drilling, turning and spark and wire erosion, all to tight tolerances. That breadth of capability means the team and design tools with production in mind, support prototyping and iteration, and make adjustments without waiting ion external suppliers.

With high-volume automated and manual injection moulding running continuously, keeping tools in optimum condition is business-critical. Managing that in-house gives us greater control over quality, lead times and responsiveness.

Serving demanding sectors

P&D’s toolmaking capability supports customers in the automotive, white goods, defence, medical and packaging sectors, industries where precision and reliability are critical.
