Major investment underpins automotive success

Avon TSA colleagues are celebrating after the company won contracts worth £1 million a year with car giant Nissan. The firm received a major boost after being asked to work on the world-renowned Japanese car manufacturer’s new Juke and Leaf models.

Avon TSA is one of the key companies in the Nissan supply chain and will use its expertise to improve comfort, quality and performance as leading experts in designing, converting, and manufacturing NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) products for the automotive and industrial sectors.

Leading NVH specialist

Roger Warr, Managing Director, said: “We are all delighted to have won significant business with Nissan who are rightly regarded as one of the world’s leading car manufacturers.

“We are proud to have developed a reputation as a leading NVH specialist and working with our partners at Nissan will strengthen our worldwide reputation as manufacturers who can be relied upon.”

The ongoing relationship is an important endorsement of the company’s capabilities, as Nissan only work with suppliers who share their high standards.

Substantial investments

Avon TSA has won the contract at a time when the company is making a substantial investment to install new heat, seal and press machinery.

A new press featuring a 1600mm square cutting head and a 300-ton cutting force will significantly enhance manufacturing capabilities, enabling the company to produce larger parts efficiently with minimal waste. A sister unit will be installed in spring to further increase capacity.

Improvements to the working environment include internal and external signage and energy-efficient lighting.
