Despite the economic slowdown, Avon Group businesses are still winning new orders and the Group continues to plan investments.
Automotive win
New business worth over £0.5m has been secured by our automotive division, even when production was temporarily halted due to lockdown restrictions. Acoustic, rubber and specially designed products for electric vehicles are amongst the range of new orders received from both Tier 1 and 2 customers.
Production, under a strictly controlled Covid-19 regime, is now gearing-up to meet the demand.
Aerosol seals surge
Sales of aerosol gaskets to worldwide customers has surged since the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic with an additional 1.5 billion inner gaskets and 350 million outer gaskets shipped in the 3 months since the start of the outbreak.
The massive worldwide increase in demand for sanitisers and soaps has fuelled this demand and our aerosol division has successfully geared-up production to meet this sudden increase in demand from its customers.
Investments
Recent months have been tough but the Group continues to forge ahead with ambitious investment plans for 2020 and the year ahead. Planned investment in the shape of replacement vehicles and new production machinery has continued to take place in the last few months. Further significant investment is on the cards for next year, ensuring we continue on our growth path and further strengthen our market position.
