The Avon Group story

Formed in Bristol in 1979.
Still 100% British-owned.

The origins of Avon Group began in 1979 in Bristol, England when Alan Rushin formed Avon Gasket Manufacturing. With extensive experience in manufacturing and a keen entrepreneurial spirit, Alan laid the foundations for the growth of the business – initially manufacturing a range of gaskets, seals, joints and washers.

In 1997 the business was acquired by Alan’s sons, James and Mark, and continued to diversify and grow.

By 2000, the business had embarked on an ambitious acquisition strategy and growth rapidly accelerated, ultimately creating the multi-site, multi-disciplinary business it is today.

Still under the same family ownership, the business is led by Alan’s son, Mark, who is Group Managing Director and the sole shareholder.
