Avon Engineered Rubber has achieved ISO 50001 accreditation at the first attempt and with zero minor non-conformances – a result the auditor confirmed was unprecedented.
ISO 50001 provides a framework for organisations to systematically improve energy management and reduce consumption over time. Achieving accreditation required demonstrating not only the steps already taken, but a credible plan for the future, including a three-year energy reduction roadmap submitted as part of the process.
Avon Group committed to ISO 50001
The accreditation is the first milestone in Avon Group’s ambition to achieve ISO 50001 across all of its sites, led by Kevin Harrop as part of the Avon Group Operational Excellence strategy. The audit process at AER was driven by Huw Goodhand Johns and Gemma Skelly, whose work ensured the site passed with no findings against it.
Managing Director Vince Minchella said: “To achieve ISO 50001 at the first time of asking, and with zero non-conformances, is a remarkable result. We had to demonstrate not just what we’ve already done, but where we’re going, and the team delivered on both counts.”
