Scandura, one of Europe’s longest-established gasket manufacturers, has invested in new equipment to enhance the capability and capacity of its production operation.
New flash cutter
The centrepiece of the investment is a new flash cutting machine – a fast, precise method of cutting or trimming components from sheet material using a cutting die. For a business producing gaskets, seals, couplings and anti-vibration components to tight tolerances, the upgrade brings both speed and consistency benefits. Parts can be produced more efficiently and to a higher standard, opening new production possibilities for customers. An upgraded guillotine has also been added.
Strengthening rubber moulding capacity
Additional machinery is being transferred from sister company Avon Engineered Rubber (AER) in Maerdy, South Wales, further developing Scandura’s rubber moulding capabilities. The incoming machinery adds capacity to the moulding section and is both more modern and significantly more energy-efficient than the equipment it replaces.
