Edgewest Plastics invests in the future
Edgewest Plastics has consolidated its operations onto a single site at Bishops Cleeve, bringing together its printing and injection moulding activities, previously split between Tewkesbury and Bishops Cleeve, under one roof.
The move is backed by substantial investment from Bristol-headquartered parent company Avon Group in the Bishops Cleeve premises, supporting the business’s continued growth.
Investment in print room and wider site
As part of the transformation, Avon Group and Edgewest Plastics have invested over £60,000 in a new print room designed to improve operational efficiency and expand customisation options for sanitaryware and white goods customers. Seven colour pad printing and foiling are now a seamless part of the production process, increasing choice for customers.
The company has also improved its warehouse layout to increase capacity and upgraded the wider site, including air compressors, material dryers, process water chillers, lighting, flooring, and signage. The improvements are underpinned by the ‘Avon Way’ behaviours and the 6S methodology: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Sustain, Standardise and Safety.
Built for the future
Plant Manager Stephen Richards said: “Edgewest Plastics is renowned for its experience in the manufacture of premium plastic moulded products, matched with strong customer service. The consolidation means we’re well placed to strengthen our position in the marketplace – it will significantly enhance our productivity and help us accelerate growth.”
He added: “This is about creating an operation that our customers can rely on – a facility and a team that’s built for what comes next. Improvements to on-time delivery and quality performance in the past year make the business well positioned to support existing customers and new opportunities.”
