Scandura reinforces personal safety
Scandura has won a contract to manufacture key components of personal safety equipment for military and emergency service personnel.
The company’s specialist engineers have been entrusted to provide a customer with respirator face mask filters and lenses, key elements of vital personal protective equipment for personnel operating in challenging environments.
Scandura Plant Manager Scott Kelman said: “It is a source of genuine pride that faith has been placed in Scandura for a vital military contract as we recognise our customer knows there is no margin for error in their area.”
Continuing investment in gasket manufacturing
The contract underlines Scandura’s agility and investment in capability, ensuring that the UK’s oldest established gasket maker remains at the front edge of customer needs.
With backing from parent company Avon Group, Scandura has benefitted from investment in a new oscillating knife-cutter, enabling the company to deliver high quantities more quickly and accurately across a range of materials.
Mr Kelman added: “As part of Avon Group, Scandura has gone from strength to strength and the investment in precision equipment such as the new oscillating knife-cutter will ensure customers can rely on us for excellence.
“We have a duty to build on our heritage to maintain Scandura’s standing in the manufacturing sector and a duty to provide customers with top-class products and those drive us all on every single day.”
